A 15 Motorway MaVa - Rotterdam/Netherlands

A-Lanes A15, a consortium consisting of Strabag AG, Ballast Nedam, John Laing and Strukton, was appointed preferred supplier for the public-private partnership project A15 Maasvlakte-Vaanplein (MaVa).

The order has a duration of 25 years and a total volume of approximately 1.5 billion euros. The project covers the capacity expansion and operation of around 37 kilometres of the A15 motorway between the outer harbour area of Maasvlakte and the Vaanplein motorway intersection, and includes construction of the road, a new movable bridge, and viaducts.

The A15 motorway is an important arterial road between the growing harbour and industrial area of Rotterdam and the European hinterland. The A15 MaVa project is the largest infrastructure project ever contracted out by Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch authority for traffic and hydraulic engineering.

After extensive evaluation, the consortium chooses think project!

Before the project team, consisting of project manager, planner, managing director and IT specialists, actually chose think project!, they put the platform through various stages of evaluation.

The suitability of an online project collaboration platform was measured using factors such as speed, security, automated processes (workflows), costs, user interface, flexibility and the competence of the provider.
