Campeon (relocation management) - Munich/Germany

Relocation of 6,500 Infineon employees coordinated easily with think project!

Like every major relocation, the shift to Infineon’s new company headquarters involved numerous minor issues and tasks that could be coordinated with think project! to save time.

Following the completion of Campeon, the new headquarters of Infineon AG in Munich’s south, relocation of approximately 6,500 employees had to be organised. After some 2,500 staff had been moved, it became clear that a significant amount of time was being invested in coordinating minor and more serious problems involved in a relocation of this size. A solution for managing employee requests arising from the relocation was needed.

A dedicated team was formed to coordinate the move, and we were commissioned with providing a solution to support them in this undertaking.

The task

Our scope involved providing Infineon employees with the ability to easily report their concerns to a central unit via ‘relocation officers’, generating control slips termed as ‘jobs’. It was then the relocation team’s task to view these jobs and forward them to the relevant internal or external resource as orders for execution. At all times, the coordinators had to maintain a clear overview of the current situation.

The solution

A customer-specific solution for ‘Job Management’ was created and implemented for Infineon at low cost and within a very short timeframe – by configuring think project!, without any programming effort.

The principal challenge was providing around 6,500 employees with the opportunity to report their concerns to the relocation team via think project!, without having to register for access to the platform itself.

The solution lay in providing a link on the Infineon Intranet where the input form could be accessed and completed. All tasks entered were processed transparently via a workflow within think project!. Members of the relocation team were responsible for controlling the workflow.

A major advantage of the solution was that external service providers could be integrated with ease. Another was that it enabled relocation team coordinators to create useful reports; for example, to quickly gain an overview of all uncompleted tasks. Importantly, Infineon employees were continuously kept up-to-date with email notifications of issue receipt and processing – providing confidence that their concerns were being addressed.
