A shining light in the desert sand

It's not just the determination for achieving new records that puts high demands on planning activities; it’s also the fact that in just a few years, Dubai has created something that was developed over centuries in other cities of the world – well-structured living spaces that have grown organically within the cityscape.
Dubai Crystal is a development project that aims to create an attractive living space for the people in Dubai. On an area of approximately 15 hectares, Arab project developer Dubai Properties has commissioned a modern, European-inspired quarter that still takes account of the cultural identity and heritage of the region. This balancing act is to be performed by German design architects and general contractors, Henn Architekten.

Henn Architekten takes advantage of support from an online collaboration platform in the planning and the execution phases. think project! is used intensively for communication within the planning team in Germany, for the coordination of local designers (e.g. local traffic planning experts) and for intensive collaboration with the building client. At the building client's request, the general contractor was also be integrated into the project platform. Clarification processes that are carried out by Dubai Properties in accordance with standard procedures are also mapped precisely in think project!, enabling requests for information and change requests/variations to be matched with the resulting decision papers.
