With think project!, we have implemented a system that optimally fulfils E.ON Engineering’s specific requirements.
Michael Wegerich, Head of Project Controlling, E.ON Engineering GmbH
After a comprehensive appraisal, E.ON Engineering and E.ON Kraftwerke decided to implement a tailored software solution rather than adapting an already existing standard solution. A short commissioning phase, high flexibility, scalability within short timeframes, moderate costs – and, above all – the simple integration of external project partners while observing E.ON -specific security guidelines influenced the decision to use a tailored solution from think project!.
One working environment for all project members
A common infrastructure for project work was needed, so that a large, changing number of external project partners could be integrated easily – and securely. The exchange of data and other information needed to be controlled and traceable between all internal and external partners. While providing an audit trail for clarification, release and inspection processes, the platform also had to enable seamless project documentation that was accessible from every location.
Consistently regulated communication
E.ON uses formal communication processes that are standard in international projects. Communication is structured using online forms, enabling the entire history of a communication chain to be documented – facilitating the generation, distribution and tracking of tasks. Every person involved can display his or her open topics as a to-do list, which can also be used for communication between E.ON and think project! consultants to discuss and evaluate further enhancements.
Documents can be found at any time
Project documents including specifications, certificates or drawings are managed with the help of think project!. There is an E.ON-specific key for these documents, which can be used to determine the subproject where a document belongs, who is responsible for it and what status it has.
Inspection processes organised efficiently
Distribution rules are used to organise which plan or which document should be sent to whom for inspection. Every person responsible is assigned a task, and the result of the inspection is attached to the document or plan. This step may be carried out several times, and the final status is only achieved when a document has been released for construction.
