Ferihegy Airport - Budapest/Hungary

Accelerated communication during extension of Budapest’s airport

Ferihegy is the second-largest airport in the new EU member states. More than eight million passengers pass through it every year. think project! is used for project communication for the extension of terminal 2.

In recent times, passenger volume at Ferihegy, the airport serving Hungary’s capital of Budapest, has risen by an average of 18% each year. With a 37.25% share in the airport company, HOCHTIEF AirPort, is further forecasting that up to 10 million passengers will pass through Ferihegy annually by 2010.

 

Ferihegy is set to strengthen its position in central and eastern Europe over the next decade, delivering increased capacity, service quality and efficiency. To achieve this, its fundamental infrastructure is being expanded and modernised, with HOCHTIEF AirPort planning to invest around 260 million euros in development.

 

During the first stage, activities are focused on the expansion of terminal 2. We were commissioned by Hungarian company, Közti zrt., which is responsible for architecture. Project controller Tomlin coordinates all project-specific requirements.

 

Efficient project communication and structured storage of documents

think project! is used for project communication and provides support for the rapid distribution of correspondence, meeting minutes and other project documents. All dispatch operations are documented, resulting in clear, structured storage.

 

The think project! Design Management Module is also used to manage activities such as automated print orders and to accelerate complex inspection procedures. External inspectors – for example, fire protection experts – can also be contacted directly using think project! via a simple email interface (think project! EMailConnect).
