ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG has had a site for new cylinder production for chain saws in São Leopoldo, Brazil since 1975. The company employs around 2,000 people there.

In the construction of a new cylinder building, the chain saw manufacturer is using the online collaboration platform think project!. Construction work on the international project with a floor area of 16,900 square metres began in January 2008.

Efficient coordination thanks to collaboration platform

The client was faced with numerous challenges in this project: several changes to the project goals caused by reductions to the planned figures, the coordination of 25 subprojects, the addition of a new waste water building, the integration of a temporary unfinished and finished product warehouse, and many more.

To coordinate this complex construction project and international cooperation in three languages (German, Brazilian and English) efficiently in two countries (Germany, Brazil), ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG decided to use the online collaboration platform think project!. This has also enabled efficient project control remotely and legally sound documentation.

International network of project partners

All internal project participants in Germany and Brazil, all external designers, project controllers, subcontractors and general contractors were integrated. In addition to extensive plan and document management, think project! enables the trilingual mapping of all processes.
