Adjacent to the company’s headquarters in Stuttgart the new Porsche Museum offers international customers and visitors exciting insights into the long and varied history of the brand.
Around 80 historic vehicles – and more than 200 smaller exhibits – will be showcased in the 5,600 square metre exhibition area. In addition to the world-famous 356, 550, 911 and 917 models, items on show illustrate the technical achievements of Professor Ferdinand Porsche from the early 20th century. As part of a ‘rolling museum’, many of the exhibits still take part in international races, and are prepared for events in the glass-encased museum workshop. The entire historical and contemporary knowledge on the subject of Porsche is gathered in the museum archive.
A total of 170 architects from all over Europe competed for the project, which was won by the Viennese architecture office Delugan Meissl Associated Architects in 2005. The firm designed a futuristic museum building entirely in white, supported only by three V-shaped columns.
According to Porsche, deadlines, costs and quality are the three central aspects of building management. Stringent, validated documentation is the basis for the best possible interplay of these three aspects. Therefore, Porsche decided to use think project! in order to optimize the communication and documentation of the project data.
think project! is already used worldwide for numerous building projects at Porsche AG .
