Petrom City - Bucharest/Romania

Impressive features of Petrom City include its modern architecture and an unusual glass facade

General contractor: Alpine Romania S.A.
Architect: ajf & Partner
Start of construction: End of 2007

OMV subsidiary Petrom, the largest oil and gas producer in south-east Europe, is building its future headquarters Petrom City near the Straulesti Lake in the north of Bucharest.

Petrom City consists of five buildings: Two oval office buildings connected to each other, the main building – a classic, 11-storey high-rise – a computer centre and a small power station.

The site is approximately 100,000 square metres, and the office buildings have a total floor space of around 70,000 square metres. The Petrom City computer centre, known as the Data Center, is the ‘heart and mind’ of the complex. Together with the Data Center in Vienna, it supports the whole of OMV and its branches around the world.

The modern architecture of Petrom City stands out particularly with its unusual glass facades, which measure a total area of 13,000 square metres.
