Karl Steiner AG constructed a new living precint with the support of think project!

From 2003 to 2007, Karl Steiner AG was the general contractor responsible for one of the largest private construction sites in Switzerland. Sihlcity is a new residential, shopping and dining precinct in the south of Zurich offering a broad range of leisure and entertainment options including restaurants, bars, cafes, cinemas, a cultural centre, health and fitness area, hotel, shopping mall and service areas.

Project space used for Sihlcity

Sihlcity was one of the first large projects in which Steiner used an online collaboration platform for more efficient project management. Introduced at the Steiner firm in 2002 for individual projects, think project! was adapted in 2003 to the project-specific requirements of the Sihlcity project and enhanced accordingly.

Working towards a company standard

Following its positive experience during the Sihlcity project, Steiner decided to use think project! for all of its large projects. Working with Philip Doka, area manager at Steiner Zurich and senior project manager for Sihlcity, think project!’s network partner in Switzerland, OLMeRO, developed a cross-company implementation concept to define how think project! would best be integrated into the firm’s existing infrastructure.

Karl Steiner AG decided to introduce the project platform gradually for all its larger construction projects.
