Thinkproject accepted as participant of the UNGC
From 2023 onwards, we will be submitting our Communication on Progress to the UNGC that will describe what actions we are taking to support the Sustainable Development Goals.
One of the core pillars of our business at Thinkproject is sustainability, and the topic steers many facets of our company, from how we operate our own offices, through to how our software solutions can benefit the environment
Importantly, through our knowledge and our platform, we can pass this onto our customers to give them a sustainable option in a sector which lags behind on being environmentally friendly. Furthermore, we are proud to ensure our staff are working with products (and a business) that is trying to reduce our carbon footprint.
Supporting goals to build a better world
The UNGC is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative and participating in this compact ensures our commitment to sustainability at Thinkproject. We are fortunate to work with customers and colleagues that share in our enthusiasm for reducing carbon emissions, with the UNGC being one step in our sustainability strategy.
The UNGC’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were developed by the UN and adopted by all Member States in 2015. They give guidance to us and other businesses on a range of topics that all feed into the betterment of our planet.
As well as sustainability, the goals also include fighting poverty, inequality, and injustice, which are all crucial for furthering education and action against climate change.
At Thinkproject we have supported numerous causes across the globe to empower the people most vulnerable to environmental instability, and with the UNGC’s guidance we can continue to contribute in meaningful ways.
The UNGC describe their mission to support companies:
- Do business responsibly by aligning their strategies and operations with Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption
- Take strategic actions to advance broader societal goals, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation.
Next for Thinkproject
It is not just big businesses that bear the responsibility of responding to climate change. We believe that businesses can contribute to a greener future through upholding ethical practices and adopting reduced or unnecessary emissions. Thinkproject’s is a sustainable option for our customers, with digital tools replacing manual paper-based methods of construction planning and execution, as well as reducing wastage (such as time or resources).
Our aim for being accepted as a participant of the UNGC is to ensure that the SDGs are incorporated into our organisation from top to bottom. With the addition of our Sustainability Department guiding us, as well as our work with Science Based Targets Initiative, all of us are dedicated to executing an ambitious sustainability strategy with the above goals set out clearly for all employees, customers and stakeholders for utmost transparency.
