Project
The A8 highway runs from Germany to Austria as one of the major motorways in Europe. In 2011 construction commenced on a new 6-lane highway with project works including demolition of existing bridges, 76 new bridges and noise protection improvements.
As a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project, PANSUEVIA GmbH & Co. KG was given responsibility for the A8 for a 30-year duration, alongside their shareholders and partners HOCHTIEF and STRABAG. As concessionaire, PANSUEVIA are responsible for organisation, finance, construction, maintenance and operations. The project is overseen by the highway authority of South Bavaria.

Solution
As with several other PPP projects, Thinkproject Document & Communication Management was on-hand to provide support in managing construction design review processes.
Various workflows were defined with CDE INFRASTRUCTURE to allow project participants to review drawings and other documents without the delay caused by manual distribution.
Result
With Thinkproject, the review durations and expected due dates are automatically monitored through integrated time-scheduling. Moreover, automated filing is in-place for drawing and documents, based on the project’s custom ID numbers, providing a clear overview and structure of a huge number of documents.
