Enabling infrastructure teams to meet deadlines
Critical deadlines are met with the use of Document & Communication Management.
Project
The Hannover-East motorway intersection connects the A2 and A7 highways, both with a high traffic density (112k and 70k passengers respectively).
Reconstruction of the intersection was intended to improve traffic flow and reduce traffic jams, with new three-lane highways constructed for both roads in both directions. Alongside the road works, new emergency rest stops were built, and existing traffic signs and markings were added.

Challenge
Carrying out works on such busy routes always poses risks for both project teams and the road users. As well as ensuring safety, the project team must work under time pressure to reduce downtime and keep the highway functioning normally during each project phase.
Solution
To meet critical deadlines for highway closures, monitoring the progress of the works was important. Thinkproject Document & Communication Management was quickly and easily implemented for the project participants, where they could then benefit from integrated scheduling management.
To ensure no data is lost, Thinkproject archives drawings and documents after completion of the reviewed As-Built documentation, with different arching options available (exposure on microfilm, digital archiving in PDF/A form, Virtual Machines, etc.)
Result
Construction and As-Built documentation for the project was processed entirely within Thinkproject. As some parties required physical copies of drawings, pre-defined print services were integrated into the project’s workflows via the platform.
